Good Evening Members,

Below are some reminders and upcoming events:

  1. Dan Moonan wanted to mention the May calendar on the website has been updated with current events.
  2. May 16 – The archery classes will start on Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 31st. Volunteers to act as instructors to help with the program are needed. If you are interested the best way to contact Wayne Charbonneau is through text at (401) 339-0765.
  3. May 17 – Opening Day for fishing on the trout pond will be held this Sunday, May 17th with a fisherman’s breakfast starting at 6:00 am. Fishermen can wet their line beginning at dawn. Members are encouraged to bring tents or trailers and sleep over on Saturday, May 16th.
  4. May 27 – The NRA Home Firearm Safety class will be held on Saturday, May 23rd from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. If interested in attending, contact President Jon Hirons at (401) 374-9276.
  5. May 30 – The Education Committee is hosting a Beyond the Basics shooting class instructed by Mark Palazio on Saturday, May 30th from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. This course is designed to build upon the skills of each student. Students will be introduced to new concepts skills and tactics designed to increase speed, efficiency and accuracy. Students will learn the 4 types of pistol malfunctions and how to clear these stoppages under situationally induced stress.

Students should expect to shoot approximately 500 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation and the law surrounding that confrontation.

This course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local laws, and is for experienced shooters. (shooters must be able to show mastery in basic shooting fundamentals and safe gun handling)

The class is limited to the first 12 club members to join. The cost of the class is $175 per person, normally it is $200 per person but Mark is giving a $25 discount for club members. To receive the discount, enter coupon code SSCBTB25 (case sensitive) at checkout.

  1. June 1 – The next monthly e-Board Meeting at 7:00 in the clubhouse – all members are invited to join.
  2. June 3 – The next Membership Meeting at 7:30 in the clubhouse. The Kitchen Committee is planning to serve the following for dinner starting around 6:00 pm:
    Italian Sausage
    Roasted Potatoes
    Broccoli with Black Olives
    Garden Salad
    Dessert
